What writer has inspired you the most? There is no way I could narrow it down to one. These are my top inspirations, Maurice Sendak, Theodore Geisel, Alfred Lord Tennyson, Paramahansa Yogananda.

How long have you been writing?  I started writing poetry when I was young. My interest in writing peaked in high school, when I took a creative writing class. I absolutely loved it! Over the years I've taken a few writing courses and have contributed to several newsletters and have written fro Textbroker International.

Personal obstacles: There have been many, so it’s hard to narrow down. The biggest has been learning to unlearn the many things that I have been taught and that don’t serve me.

What obstacle have you overcome:  I used to have a really hard time sitting still and turning off the endless thoughts and things to do in my head. I have gotten much better at being able to sit and meditate. I think this has really helped me move forward and create a better life for myself.

How was your experience writing this book?  I love writing! It has always felt like such freedom to me, this book was no different.

What kind of world would you like to live in? A world in which everyone loved themselves and truly understood their worth and power.

What is one thing you wish kids knew? Their limitless potential, goodness and worth. That the world is full of all kinds of amazing and different people, but we all are special in our own way. I want this to be communicated clearly in the books we are creating.

What is one piece of advice can give the world? Question everything!

What will you do with your royalties? Royalties will go back into creating more books and more opportunities for the kids! The goal is to provide opportunities to kids and help close the diversity gap. When you purchase one of our books you will not only be purchasing a diverse book, you will be supporting our mission to create artistic and financial opportunities for kids! Head to our book, to purchase your copy today!  Who Do You Think I Am?

What are your plans for the future?  To provide more opportunities for young illustrators and eventually young authors to create books that help close the diversity gap!

How long have you been interested in design and art? I have had an interest in art ever since I was a little girl. My mom is very creative, and has always encouraged me to express myself creatively. She is my biggest cheerleader.

Personal obstacles: I have a hard time taking compliments and I have a bit of a sweet tooth.

What obstacle have you overcome: I’ve come against many obstacles in my life. Some of the more life-changing have been moving to a new country and learning to speak a new language when I was 11, and coping with my parents’ divorce shortly after.

How was your experience designing this book? I absolutely loved it. I worked with preschool children for 6 years before my career as a designer so I have a really special place for kids in my heart.

What kind of world would you like to live in? I want to live in a world where everyone has an equal opportunity for happiness and friendship, where kindness and love bring out the best in people.

What is one thing you wish kids knew? I really wish that every kid out there knew it’s ok to be different.

What is one piece of advice you can give the world? We all come from different walks of life but in the end we are all people.

What are your plans for the future? I am planning to go back to school and pursue a Master’s Degree, adopt at least one more dog, and travel until I have no strength left.
